Routeway: Adult and Social Care

This programme has been designed for job seekers who would like to explore a career in adult and social care. The course offers job seekers the chance to recognise and use their abilities, increase their confidence, as well as improving their employability skills.

By the end of the course, participants will develop a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector. They will also have an understanding of the type of job roles and services within the sector. They will understand the role of communication as well as the importance of valuing the individuals being cared for.

In addition to gaining three relevant qualifications, participants also have the opportunities to participate in interviews with local employers. This programme is currently offered in Darlington.

Eligibility: Age 19+

Duration: 3 Weeks

Each individual will create a Learning Plan in order to record their progress towards their personal goals. By fully participating in workshops job seekers can achieve the following qualification(s):

Qualifications achieved:

This qualification covers: Confidence Building, Keeping Safe, Understanding Assertive Behaviour and Effective Communication.

This qualification covers: Creating a Great First Impression, Career Planning and Job Search, Making Applications and Interview Skills.

  • NCFE Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness

This qualification will enable learners to: develop an awareness of issues around mental health, dispel myths linked to mental health issues as well as learning about the rights of those with mental issues.
