Preparing to Work in the NHS

The Amacus Employability team are busy supporting and training unemployed individuals to be better prepared when applying for Health Care Assistant (HCA) Bank staff vacancies at the NHS Co Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust.

The Trust, which has eight hospital sites across a wide geographical area from Darlington and Bishop Auckland to Durham, Chester-le-Street and Sedgefield, has a current recruitment campaign to attract more HCA Bank staff to support its operations across sites and increase their pool of bank staff resources.

Sarah Ainslie, Business Development Manager at Amacus said ‘As an organisation, we are genuinely passionate about helping support people back into the workplace, working with local JobCentre Plus offices and delivering our Leapfrog ‘Jump Start Your Future Programme’ to unemployed individuals across the North East. We have successfully worked in partnership with the Trust in the past to support recruitment of Ward Hostesses and Domestics for hospital sites, and are delighted to be invited again to provide training and pre-employability support to specifically help unemployed people in local areas that are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare or nursing

Amacus have designed a bespoke pre-employment training programme to help candidates be job ready. This includes ID vetting, work orientation sessions with NHS Trust Managers, help to improve CVs and personal statements, and practical support to help individuals prepare to apply online.
