An inspiring day was had by all at the recent Youth Enterprise Event held in Hartlepool during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Organised by the Economic Regeneration Team at Hartlepool Borough Council as part of the Hartlepool Youth Investment Project, this was an opportunity for youngsters from five Hartlepool schools to come together to find out more about starting up in business and take part in a Dragons Den session.

The Creative Ideas workshops run by Amacus at the event were all about stimulating young people to think about new and creative business ideas and also about the many and varied ‘hats’ they might have to wear as a business owner.

Sue Bridel, Enterprise Support at Amacus said ‘It was a great day and the youngsters who took part were excellent to work with, contributing in a really positive way and being fantastic advocates for their schools. We saw some really excellent innovative and imaginative business ideas and clearly some budding entrepreneurs of the future’.

The event was hosted by Hartlepool Sixth Form College and local businesses were involved in the Dragons Den judging panels. English Martyrs School and High Tunstall College of Technology were the Winners of the Dragons Den challenges.
